Characters Played Here: I used to play Soda Andioli.
Character: Trenton Dee Grant

World Description: Trent is from the basic real world. He has never really left Kentucky outside of going to Tennessee to see a Titans game once. Other then that the boy is a bit less then educated on the ways of some of the world. However there is no supernatural in his world. It's all basic run of the mill.
History: Trenton as born to a poor farming family, his parents already had two other children. A set of sisters who would endlessly torture their brother as siblings do. The tragedy to Trent's birth is that he never met his father, the man was killed in a farming accident when he was just a bun in the oven. His mother often spoke of his father to him as did his alcoholic uncle. He grew up with these grand stories of his father being a firm upstanding man who always fought for what he believed in, even if it wasn't exactly true. Still this is what he based him own self image off of. A man he never met. A lot of those in the community had had respect for his father just for a few deeds the man had done in his past which got the family help from local churches when times were hard. From the time he could walk Trent had been helping his mother and sisters till the land and grow tobacco which kept them feed and clothed. The best they could do was farm and hunt, but deer and rabbit meat gets old after so long.
By the time he reached 15 he decided that school had nothing left for him. He convinced his mother to sign him out while his sisters went on with their educations being only a few years older. He took over full time from then working their land and working on other people's farms for extra money. Anything he could do to help keep his mother from having to pull double shifts at the local truck stop dinner. Soon after he dropped out his oldest sister Becky turned up pregnant and her boyfriend dumped her. Trent for the first time showed the temper of his father's that had been left out of the stories and went and beat the man to an inch of his life. He sat in Juvenile hall from October until March, his mother and sisters trying their best to get him released. The man didn't press charges but he did marry Becky before Trent got out of jail. Also feeling responsible he helped care for his mother and sister in law while Trent sat behind bars. The two still never saw eye to eye when Trent got out. He purposely avoided his brother in law at all costs. However when his niece was born he became wrapped around her little finger.
When he was 17 he landed a small job as a clerk in a grocery store. No one else wanted to hire him due to his stay in juvenile hall, despite the fact his record would be expunged soon it was a small town. Everyone knows everything, that kind of violence was not smiled upon. His mother demanded he start setting money aside as the old truck he had been driving of hers started to break down more and more. She wanted her son to have his own car as he grew. And it was through his drunken uncle by the age of 18 that he pulled it off. His uncle sold him an older mustang for 500 dollars, and even helped him repair it. Once the car was running and winter was approaching did his uncle finally offer him a chance to end his families money troubles... He lead Trent deep down into the holler where the woods became too deep to be seen and here was where he was exposed to the art of moonshine. His uncle explained the truth of his families history that had been hidden from him. His family had been making moonshine since they came down from the mountains and bought the land they owned. Only since his father's death had the shine running stopped. He was told right then he had two choices. Start the still again or join the army, no one else was going to take white trash like them.
The next week he fired up the still with everything he could get his hands on and his uncles help, soon the Grant boys were in business again. Trent running the whiskey to the places his uncle choose in the dead of the night. His mother assumed he was shacking up with a girl and expected her son to show up with a child soon too. From 18 to 20 he ran moonshine with his uncle until a faithful day that his brother in law happened to be at one of the meeting houses, and recognized him. And as news works he told his wife. Trent was woke up the next morning by his mother hitting him over the head with a broom and chasing him through the house in his boxers screaming at him. No son of hers was going to be running moonshine. She wouldn't loose him too. His sisters sold the mustang from under him and, as luck would have it his uncle was arrested a few days after as well for drug trafficking.
He had nothing left to turn too.
Then it happened, two letters arrived. One for the army, one for a space colony called New Dodge. After talking to his mother he decided as scary as it was he would go speak to this man named Eli and take up his offer as long as whatever money he makes could be converted and sent home. His biggest concern is his family and how they will make it.

Personality: Trent is the idea county boy, not the fake ones. You know the ones that pretend to be farmers but are really just jerks wanting for some reason to pretend that they know what their talking about. Trent not only talks it but he lives it. He has known how to drive a tractor since he was 9 years old and hanging tobacco earlier then that. And being raised in a house full of women this means that he was raised to be a little gentlemen. He opens doors for women, tips his (trucker)hat and says ma'am and sir. He keeps up his manners as his mother would likely take the broom to him if he failed to do so. He was raised southern baptist so he's very big on going to church on Sunday and grace before every meal, even if it's take out. He tries his best not to curse in front of a woman but if he's mad enough he will curse like a sailor.
The young man's got a temper, sometimes it takes a lot of time to breach it but once it's cracked open he tends to black out and become very violent. This temper landed him in juvenile hall in his earlier years. It's something he's not exactly proud of but wont lie about as it was common knowledge in his hometown that he nearly killed his brother in law. He has a lot of knowledge on how to grow things and fix all kinds of stuff. He can tear apart an engine and put it back together, the basic stuff one learns on a farm as a child. What this means is that he is quick learner and willing to learn from other people. However technology is lost to him, he wouldn't even be able to work a touch screen phone to save his life. Least not without cracking it, he will always try but he can't always do what he sets out to do. This being said he's proud of the stuff he can do. Like being a damned good shot with a hunting riffle or being able to skin an animal and clean it for food. Unlike a lot of 20 year olds he doesn't have to be constantly active. He's perfectly content to be idle and fish if he has the chance. He likes silence now and then it helps keep his mind on whats important, that piece of land wanting at home.
To Trent family and loyalty come first and foremost, as his family is waiting back home for his return he will do pretty much anything he is asked to assure he makes the money he hopes to make before returning him. If it came down to killing someone he'd not be okay with it but if he had no other choice then of course he would do what he had to do to survive but it would affect him greatly. He's prone to stress, but not talking about stress as a man doesn't talk about his problems. These ideas he was raised on are outdated but they are what he lives by and will likely not change that. A good point to old views means he's fiercely loyal to his friends, he would do anything for those he holds close. He makes friends rather easily unless someone makes fun of his lack of education. It's a sore spot for him, one he regrets and doesn't like made fun of. He was needed more on the farm then in books and being poked fun at for dropping out young is likely to get someone a black eye.
The idea of the space colony was much more appealing to him then joining the army. He had to pick one since the crops were failing and he knew that another year or two and they would loose everything. He's in New Dodge to save his families farm, even if he can or cant take any money back he doesn't know and hasn't asked. He assumes he can and this he will be why he is hard working and diligent. Family comes first everything else comes second.
Now, I feel like I need to toss this in. Trent's not too big on vice. He doesn't smoke as he's seen all of the chemicals that goes on tobacco and doesn't trust that stuff to come off. He only drinks socially, if someone hands him a beer sure he will drink it but nothing much harder. He's a young man without much of a tolerance yet. Though he made and ran moonshine he never really drank it. He left that to his uncle, which is why he chooses not to be a heavy drinker he's seen the monster his uncle can be and he doesn't want to be that. And women, well he's only ever been with one lady and she was a friend of his sisters. He didn't tell her she was his first so she took the quick ending as him being a bad lay and mad fun of him horribly for it, so since then he just tries not to get frisky with anyone anymore. He's got issues with being made fun of if that isn't clear.
